I think this an opportune time to show how crazy your dem leaders are.
Pelosi et al. revised the energy program to make Canadian oil sands an alternative fuel and now they will ban its use through government.

By the way this applies to Venezuela oil from the Orinco belt and domestic ethanol and even local development of oil shale will be stopped.

The congress has virtually assured that most oil imports will now come from the middle east. You can blame GWB and his policies all you want, but at least he had the sense to try to stop Americans from being committed to middle eastern oil and strive for independence from crackpots. Congress stopped it. No more oil independence. Good Job Dems. You thought there were wars for it will be worse now.

Also, Canada under NAFTA is required to export all of our to the US and in most cases it is at a discount because America has many heavy oil refineries, that we don't have. If the dems open up NAFTA you can bet the oil will be the first thing Canada will negotiate out.

This was Section 526, a single paragraph in an 822-page bill: "No federal agency shall enter into a contract for procurement of an alternative or synthetic fuel, including a fuel produced from nonconventional petroleum sources, for any mobility-related use, other than for research or testing, unless the contract specifies that the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production and combustion of the fuel supplied under the contract must, on an ongoing basis, be less than or equal to such emissions from the equivalent conventional fuel produced from conventional petroleum sources."

The truly ironic part is that most oil development in Canada is performed by American companies with American head offices.The Saudi are nationalized with no money going back to the US.

I've read that if we start working on refining shale oil the United States would be sitting on the largest oil reserve in the goddamn world! NO MORE FUCKING DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN (DURKA DURKA) OIL!!!
