Frank Zappa

I downloaded about 10gb worth of his music. All of it as far as I can tell. I don't get it.

Am I missing something? Just seems like a lot of noodling. As a musician I see the value in pushing the envelope but all of his stuff seems very niche.

Frank Zappa's music was written for an audience with longer attention spans than most.

Would fans of prog rock and stuff like Phish enjoy him? If that's the case I'll never like it.

He was into experimental sound. Didn't care to much for it myself.

I never got that cat either.

Sometimes being different just makes for crappy music.
