Ok, I've heard Jag and others say that the gas prices in America are catching up

That the gas prices are catching up to what the rest of the world is paying?  So am I understanding this right, are these people saying that as the price per barrel of oil goes up, only American prices are rising and all these other countries are not feeling the hit at the pump via price jumps?  Is this true?  Or bullshit?

I guess what I was asking is: Is the price of gas also going up around the world or just here.  I know places like Venezuela and Saudi A. won't necessarily follow, but in general, are all countries getting hit or just the US?

I was in London a few weeks ago, and the prices for "petrol" were higher than I'd ever seen them. Don't know about the rest of the world.

To be fair, I know very few Londoners who actually drive anywhere, and one of the reasons is probably the price of gas. In that way, we're getting closer to them.

ie: it might go up 1 penny a gallon in one country, while it increases a nickle or a dime in the USA,
but those countries were already paying high prices. It will eventually go to possibly $5 gallon or beyond in the USA. We're already seeing it at record highs, ...and the summer driving season has not yet even begun.
