I don't think so. According to many he wasn't as hard/dry this year compared to last year. He has impressive striations in the quads for example, but that's genetic to a large degree. As far as conditioning look at Kjellström from the same comp. He was drier.

If Kai got sick at the contest it's probably because he wasn't quite there conditioning wise and had to push the diuretics. Take a look at his back when he guest posed the week before.

His hair was the same last year (just not in a bun), and he will be able to maintain/improve his conditioning with each show he enters.  I think after this year, you might just be seeing Kai compete in only one show per year..
