W-T-F, nerve damage? :(
« on: June 01, 2008, 04:50:38 AM »
Guys be gentle please.... :)

About 8 weeks ago i did an injection to my quad.....

Now after 8 weeks i noticed that there is a "hole" you know near vastus lateralis....when i flex the quad (hit it down you know), vastus lateralis seems a bit strange like its missing a piece or something....

I remember when i did the injection, when i sticked the needle it seemed like something trembled and formated a "hole".

wtf, could this be nerve damage? just saw it...

sorry about my english....not my mother language...i hope i made myself clear.

probably not.   Hows feeling in and around that area?   Can you flex the quad?  Does that area move or is it flacid?

The first days of the injection it was just like a "bad injection"...a bit swelling and pain when I moved the leg.

Now after 8-9 weeks i can fully flex the quad no pain, no problems at all everything is normal,

except that the green part is like sunken in a bit and if i flex the quad and touch the spot you cant feel any muscle! lol wtf....

First off you should be shooting higher up on the quad. From the top of your hip bone to the start of your knee, the sweet spot is right in the middle. When you are sitting down you want to shoot high and outside. Never shoot to close to the knee. A painful injection can cause trouble with your knee.

I'd think muscle damage secondary to deep abcess before I'd think "nerve" damage the way you've described things.    What do you mean you can't feel any muscle?

Right at the green spot when i touch its sunken in and the muscle in that particular spot is not "hard", flexed or whatever..... :-\

I have seen this situation when bodybuilders repeatedly stick the same area over time, but not from a one time stick.

It's your body's defense mechanism to the injection, the needle specifically......like a dent in the muscle fascia.

I wouldn't worry about it because there's nothing you can do for it.

The needle left a dent in the muscle fascia.

It's just an aesthetic issue and there's nothing you can do about it.

You know Div, the "dent in the fascia" doesn't make sense to me because of how tightly associated the fascia is with the underlying muscle.   I'm still thinking there was localized infection which resultedin localized fibril atrophy.

You'll see this sort of thing with horses where they get frequent injections in their rumps or necks for infections----typically antinflammatory drugs or antibiotics.  There is a localized reaction to the injection and microscopically, if you cut that area out, there is reduction in size and scaring of the underlying muscle tissues.  Typically it'll get very hard, may swell up a bit, and/or become painful, then atrophy as the swelling goes away.

The thing is once its there, its there. There isn't anything that can be done.  Its superficial and doesn't result in any loss of function.  Its aesthetic more than anythign else.

It sounds like you know more about this than I do.

The fascia theory is only that, but I've seen it many times with users.

Should be injecting into the head of the penix anyway
