She had an 80 year old woman  (looks like it) with a hunch back doing 25lb dumbbell side bends (one on dumbbell in each hand) then had her doing decline situps. I thought she was going to break!

She can't be insured...once she 'harms' someone...kiss that gym goodbye.

You can get insurance w/ out being certified. It just costs more. K and K insurance does it as does a few other big companies.

This thread is so done. Obviously there's a bunch of morons/losers/ego maniac/douchebag/know nothing trainers just as there are plenty of incompetents at any other profession. How many bad cooks work at restaurants? It's a matter of sifting through the useless ones and finding the good ones. Just like anything else.

Otherwise you could start a thread called getbiggers and their useless threads. Does it apply to a lot? Sure does. Does it apply to all? No chance.

Obviously you think you know more about training. Not saying by anymeans there a3e not incompetent trainers, but let's not make that a blanket statement. I would be willing to bet that 90% of the people on here who critisize trainers can't put a program together to save their lives but think they can!!

how about doing squats without end collars and the guy tips to the side, the plates fall off and  the olympic bar impales a guy sitting beside the squat rack

Re insurance...that may be true....but believe me....if someone gets hurt under her watch and she is not certified....opposing counsel will have a field day and...depending on the extent of the loss....insurance will not be adequate and potential loss of gym or other assets would be likely....I guess my real impression is -do not hire a friggin trainer because, as the poster had said...she is 'hot'...I am sure Coach will agree here.

Yes, I do agree. One of the best and most reputable strength trainers in the country looks like he doesn't even train yet pro athletes and olympians go to him. Its not really how you look, its what you know!

I seen this personal trainer at my gym
showing this 50-60 year old lady in my
gym doing bent over rows!

Now, if she actually had enough
weight on that bar, she would have
broken her back.

I have seen experienced or intermediate
bodybuilders use bad form.

who the heck would show a beginner,
a woman at that such a complicated
exercies.

He then after that had her doing.
squats on a see-saw board.

I couldn't believe my eyes,

Is this some kind of poem?

if you need a "personal" trainer to start , you're never going ot achieve anything on your own in the physical department.

Anyone who'd hire an uncertified, inexperienced, or unknowledgeable trainer is asking for trouble. I own a gym and have been a trainer for almost 15 years. I have an NBA player 2 bodybuilders, 2 footballers and a 12 year old figure skater hopefully headed to the olympics. I also train a handful of housewives, business pros, physical rehab clients such as 2 guys with complete shoulder replacements, knee injuries, etc etc. Nobody would work in my gym without a very in depth knowledge of nutrition, anatomy, corrective flexibility and the insight to see a potential problem and the ability to correct it. On top of that a prospective trainer would have to be damn cool. I operate a positive energy gym meaning no corporate shitheads or shitheads from any other circle. My policy for clients as well as staff is check your cell phone, your libido, your religion and your politics at the door. Come on in and be nice.

Other gyms can do what they please. It's their gym so who am I to say anything. There's an abundance of incompetence in this field as there is in all fields from the guys that make executive decisions for companies to the guys that collect trash on the streets from in front of our homes. Blanket statements are for angry people without imagination and the ability to recognize others' achievements and contributions.

If you read it that way, than we
can call it that if you you like,
perhaps a song?
