Iron Man - Review and Reminder
« on: May 02, 2008, 01:44:07 AM »
Iron Man is really good. I would definitely recommend it. 8)

It had the right amount of backstory, action and humor. Downey is the perfect Stark and Jeff Bridges is very good. I can't stand Paltrow, but she was not a problem for the film. Her witty banter with Downey works well without being overdone. The fight at the end could have been better, but this thing more than holds its own with the best movies this genre has to offer.

Important Note: Stay for all of the end credits. There is a scene at the end of the credits that is very cool and gives a glimpse of the future for Iron Man. Don't miss it.

On a final note, the new/final The Dark Knight trailer played before the film as did the new/final The Incredible Hulk trailer and the new/final Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull trailer. Of course, there may be a different set of trailers depending on where and what theater you go to see Iron Man. I know people who went to Iron Man tonight and didn't see all three of the trailers that I did. You can pretty much expect to see at least the Hulk trailer since it is another Marvel property. :)

2 KEY SCENES:

1.- IRONMAN'S ASSISTANT KEEP THE FIRST "HEART" HE MADE AND THAT WILL HELP HIM TO FIGHT IN THE END
2.- IRONMAN ADMIT IT: "THE TRUTH IS.. I AM IRON MAN"

Nice movie, i saw it yesterday after reading a comment here, i recommend it too

saw it a couple days ago. Gwyneth looks young for her age, and is hawt despite two kids.

Movie's pretty entertaining if you don't overthink it.

For anyone who walked out of the theater before the end of the credits, and thus missed the final scene, I uploaded it to mediafire.

Enjoy.

I just saw it tonight. The lights didn't come on during the credits and I was thinking that there was probably going to be something at the end but my friends were already walking out so I missed it. Thanks for that.

Very good movie. Definitely one of the better, if not the best, super hero movies from Marvel.

I didnt think it was that good to be honest. I think the best marvel movie so far is the first Spiderman movie.

I'm not as much a huge tony stark fan and he's become more irritating after the "CivilWar" storyline Marvel did. I think the ironman armor could have been showcased more. This was sort of like Robocop vs Big giant Robo thingy. The acting was good but the storyline needed more work.

It was cool to see jim Rhodey(War machine) glance at the silver armor on the rack and say "Next time baby".

WarMachine armor looks cooler than Ironman armor.

I honestly haven't read comics in years or watched the Iron Man cartoons in a while but I thought it was pretty good. The two hours flew by. I don't know if I would say it was better than the first Spider-Man but compared to the other superhero movies, it was definitely better than them.

Plus, the possibility of the Avengers appearing is just badass.

wasnt Nick Fury white? i thought the extra ending at the end of the credits was over rated. also i dont see them adding War Machine in the next IM, it would seem too crowded kinda like when they introdiced friggin Robin into the old batman movies from the 90's.
the hulk will bomb.

In the ULTIMATES version Nick Fury is black and is modelled on Samuel Jacksons likeness. Romor has it that Sam jackson was interested in taking up the role of Fury should the situation arise.

I didnt see the end credits clip. I walked out once the credits began. What is with the whole clip at the end of the credits routine anyway? 5 minutes of names for a 5 sec clip?

As for Rhodey/warmachine showing up - who knows

I think the hulk will bomb as well. A battle between the hulk and abombination isnt all that interesting.  I'm waiting for Sin City 2.

They had a trailer for The Hulk before Iron-Man. It looked alright. I'm not expecting anything spectacular, though.

I'm hoping to be surprised, but right now it just looks decent.

I won't be in a rush to see the Hulk. I wasnt that impressed by the trailer - even with Ed Norton playing Banner. At least it cant be worse than the Ang lee version...I hope.
