UFC 84: Wilson Gouveia vs. Goran Reljic
« on: May 25, 2008, 10:00:31 AM »
For only being 24 and his first UFC appearance, Reljic has a bright future. This was a great fight.

Fantastic fight. I thought Reljic was toast when Gouveia had him down and was pounding away.

Helluva fight.  I'd like to see him fight Thiago Silva next.

Great fight, could have gone either way. Thiago Silva is still on another level though.
I think they'll let him fight one or two more guys from the "B-squad", extend his contract and then mix him in with the top guys.
I was a bit surprised to see that he is actually a BJJ guy. Wouldn't have guessed that from the fight.

Cro Cop is his mentor and has been training him. Over the last two months he has been training with Randy Couture. Give this guy a couple of more years. Just imagine having Cro Cop's stand-up with an excellent ground game.

I guess he could have gotten worse trainers  :D
That doesn't guarantee success, but i like his style. Gonna have a lot of fans if he keeps on doing the kicks.

The thing is, other fighter will catch on to that high kick just like they did with Cro Cop.

He currently is a purple belt with Roger Gracie, and trains at Xtreme with Shaun Thompkins, Robert Drysdale and Jacare having just joined team Xtreme Couture.

actually goran sucked pretty bad im pissed that gouveia didnt finish him when he had the opportunity. goran was extremely predictable throwning nothing but left right hands and left kicks. wilson made a mistake to remain in his distance eating those kicks instead of putting pressure on him.

Don't understand why Wilson was circling to Goran's left.
