The more I think about this the more I believe it doesn't really matter who he selects, so long as it isn't Hillary.  I think he ought to pick a white male with military experience, but at the end of the day people still vote the top of the ticket.

I'm sorry to be so dense, never heard of Chuck Hagel, just read up on him, like his positions. I was unaware that a dem could choose a repub for VP. Has that ever been done before?

Yes, in fact the tape was promised to be released a few days ago. Go check youtube, I am sure it is there :)

On paper Michelle is head and shoulders above Cindy McCain. One a Ivy league educated lawyer the other a former dug addict thief. They need to leave it on paper, and keep Michelle a little less involved. There are a lot of fluff pieces in the womens mags where she comes across fabulous - just talking about raising 2 kids with their hectic schedule she and Barack have, fashion etc. That type of media should be more encouraged, as she will put her foot in it guaranteed. As of now, women apart from racist hicks, really are impressed by her. Keep that way, and slap her on the backburner.

I have to agree with this, ...only in the sense that she suffers from what I call the Hilary syndrom in that she's a strong confidant, accomplished and capable woman. That intimidates alot of people. Throw her race & gender in the mix and that intimidates alot of caucasian men.

tape was a silly lie to get repub donors to cough up money.

tape was never produced as they promised.

it's as real as the easter bunny having sex in santa's sled while he's visiting the home of an honest neoconservative.

What they have is a tape of her questioning something and saying "Why'd he..."
This of course was reprehensibly spun to have her saying "Whitey"

Can't recall.  Not in recent history.  Clinton had a Republican cabinet member, but that's about as close as it comes.

Good discussion about both VP choices on Larry King last night.  http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0806/09/lkl.01.html
