We are about to hit $8 a gallon [US]

Strange none of the 'common man' really cares, it is just a mild annoyance. I assume as we don't produce anything so it won't cause job cuts and are so small it's impossible to drive long distances so gas last forever [?]



That's probably because you can drive from one end of your island to the other in about what... 2 hrs?  ;D
I'll bet the tour boats are feeling it though. Sure they can raise their charter prices to cover...
...but I bet some of the commercial fishermen might be feeling the pinch of bunker fuel prices,
...the rest of the island will feel it when tourism drops due to fuel surcharges imposed by airlines & tour operators

Under 2 hrs actually to travel island wide, 45 mins max if you take the long scenic route ;D

There are people who can't even drive to work in less than 45 mins straight highway driving at 110 kms an hour
The guys from Texas are probably flipping out. It takes 2 days to drive from one end of that state to the other.

The good news is... you're never far from a beach!
