it does cause insulin resistance, but i geuss the super compensated state of working out counteracts this as lifting causes increased insulin sensitivity.

i always take caffeine in the form of coffee before training with some complex carb and shake or steak.

i just read the org study and the mechinism is obvious. Caf inhibits insulin action in adipocytes(fat cells) thus causing insulin released to act on skeletal muscle. quite simple actually

I'm always exhausted after a workout and feel like doing nothing, so maybe taking caffeine will not make me as lethargic.

i think Bcaas would help more, or some glucose mid workout.

Doesn't caffeine raise cortisol levels too?
I've always avoided it as much as possible, but i'm no expert.

coffee has alot of beneficial effects. i would drink coffee right before training if i was going to implement this as the half life would allow it to still be in your blood.
