For about the last ten years or so I've been using a protein powder called Nutrisport 90+ Protein. Not sure if you can get it in the US but it's quite prevalent here in the UK.
So anyway, I was in a supplement store today and the guy who runs it was talking to me. Bear in mind this wasn't your run-of-the mill skinny shop-floor worker - this guy was about the same size as me - about 240lbs and had a decent build on him. You could tell he trained seriously and was probably on a bit of gear too.
So he was talking to me and asked me what protein powder I take - I replied "Nutrisport 90+ Protein".
He said - "That stuff's crap - you should be taking something like CNP's protein product or the new stuff that Dorian Yates has brought out".
I said "why?", and he said "just speak to Dorian and he'll tell you why". (Bear in mind I train at Temple Gym and could ask Dorian if I wanted to - which I just might)
So anyways, when I get home I do a bit of research on protein powder quality and discover that my Nutrisport 90+ protein is 65% undenatured whey protein isolate and 35% micellar casein. Yet when I look at all the other supposedly good products they seem to refuse to give a percentage of whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, and other stuff so I guess I will never know how good my stuff is against theirs. For every 100 grams of product I will get 90 grams of protein which in my opinion isn't too shabby.
Can anyone help - should I just continue using the same stuff I've been using for the last ten years or should I try CNP, Dorian's stuff, or anything else instead?
