Just switched to egg white protein. There seems to really be a difference. Is that all in my imagination because I sort of feel better than usual? To clarify, I usually feel fine but my recovery time and other stuff is a little better.

Egg whites probaly agree more with your digestive and recovery system
Not every one is made for Milk proteins, meat proteins etc.

If you just switched from "straight from the tap", yes there is one.
