An acquaintance/friend is moving and I kinda offered to help her move because she mentioned that nobody with a truck (guys) would help her move stuff. Also keep in mind we talked about going out for dinner or something, prior to this. She lives about 30 minutes away, so it's not exactly on my way but I said if she can't find anyone else that I would help. So is this a way to score points or look like a sucker?
Either you did or didn't. Did she ask you first among the others, or were you last on the list? And did she say yes to going to dinner before asking you for help? And did she If not, then, yeah you would be seen as a sucker. Or did you "kinda" not get an answer? She would be trading your service for dinner.
Since we don't know the whole story, we can only go by the facts. She might indeed, like Jag said, look upon you as a descent person helping out. But as someone said, go with your gut. If you need to ask, then you the deal, she thinks she has a sucker. And it will only get worse.
