I find it funny how people complain that Bluto starts pointless threads, yet no one says a word how 240 starts 20 threads a day on here, usually never anything worth discussing, just news he catches on CNN or Foxnews. You honestly don't think he is overdoing it in some weird quest to beat Bluto in threads started or whatever he has been doing?

I used to read the politics board, then 240 start regurgitating every story CNN plays, now matter how small. I have cable, I don't need a play by play from him. I have no idea why the mods don't just give him his own little blog thread, it's way past ridiculous at this point.

Bluto doesn't post here so I don't know what you mean.   I have no issue with what 240 does here, he brings shit he wants hashed out and usually spends the time to hash it out.  Oh and 240 has way more posts than Bluto anyway but I doubt he gives a shit.  He's wiped his post count back to a few thousand once from this account, and counting his 240 or bust account, he has way more than Bluto.  I doubt he gives a shit like bluto does.

again i agree but you must also agree that some of the threads started by 240 in the past 2 days not to mention the past 2 weeks. months are repetitive and baseless mindless drivel. He does have good threads but he clearly posts 15 to 20 threads a day and not all are good threads or have political legitimacy. So we can talk about it, nothing new there.  as I said a million times, the threads that nobody wants to talk about vanish to page 2 right away.  The threads the intrigue and there are several, end up getting hashed out... It works.  I see it works and it will stay that way.  This wild on Palin thing doesn't happen that often.  Sometimes it's a dem in the scopes.  It's best we wade this episodes rather than change policy.  With political animosities what they are, this forum isn't the easiest to mod.  Sometimes it take time to think out what's best.  Changing coarse permanently for a storm is a mistake.  The storm is real and we see it reflected here.  There are those who want to see the storm buried.  That's not happening.  The people who care should fight the storm and then dish it when it's time.

the vast vast majority of his threads fail, why not save the threads for the ones that have a higher likely hood of sticking?

The solution is really very simple. If you don't like 240's threads, ...don't click on them. No one says you have to.
Personally, I think 240 is a great contribution to the board. He follows what's going on, and he's got a sharp mind, his posts are usually quite inciteful. Granted, I frequently have trouble keeping up with many of them, but that's ok.

I think the challenge here is that some people think that a thread with the subject heading about Palin's Trooper-Gate scandal, should also include information about her policy stance vis-a-vis abortion and/or  drilling, and/or Alaskan secessionism (if that's a word). I don't agree. Each one is a separate issue and is worthy of it's own discussion thread. A reader may not care about her position on abortion, ...but then again they might, ...and to hide that in a thread about drilling in Alaska is unfair to readers and contributors. Each subject he posts is clearly marked. If we do what we're supposed to do as contributors and stick to the topic at hand rather than veer off into nowhere, or simply attacking the messenger rather than the message, following the discussions becomes alot easier.

as well if it's a legitimate news story being discussed in the press, ...it's fair game for discussion here imo.

I agree with little Collosos, Berzerk, Shoot, Beach and others say, and they disagree with me, but we are always pretty polite. Same with some others. No need to be nasty to folks, but I guess if that's the home training they have - what can I say.
