My friends says he only smokes cigars with a bic lighter becuase zippos make the cigar taste bad.  What you think, i can't tell.

Zippos use kerosine, which will impart a bad taste to your smoke. A wooden match or a cedar splint is the classic way to light a cigar, but I usually use a butane torch. I actually have a Zippo torch, which is fueled by butane instead of kerosine like standard Zippos use.

wood is the best and what is recommended

there is a proper way to light a cigar and its to make a dark ring then hold flame AWAY from cigar and inhale the flame - why wood is best

taste, burn right temp -- use a butane on the golf course and a zippo is just plain military or biker for me, stick to the lighten joes with a zippo IMO
