The Patriot Act essentially allows government to control and silence the Media. If the media is shut down, then you have a fascist state. That's what troubles people about it.

Talk about being completely wrong.  So, it really controls and silences the media?  That is why you have people out there screaming for Bush's impeachment,  NY Times runs article on wiretapping program on suspected terrorists, leaks galore on all kinds of security issues with no prosecutions (other than Libby-but thats a different story) any jackass and his mother can put up sites bashing the us and calling our soldiers media.  It is all a smoke screen; the Patriot Act allows those in chrage of our country's defense get the information they need to do their job.

It first starts with empathy, like man it sucks to be a Palestinian losing your house all of the time.
Next comes those freedom fighter in Iraq are only trying to protect their property.

Then, if I was in their situation I would do the same thing.

Joker i think what they are doing is debating whether certain groups are terrorist or not.  For example, Hamas, Hez in the eyes of the lebonese, and many surrounding arabs are protecting the populace from Israeli aggressive repression.  Many of these people, however, consider Al Queda pure terrorist.
