the FDA is corrupt, MONEY is king, not public health
the only things they will ban are things that people can drop dead on the spot from, thats them 'doing their job'. severe longerterm heath effects from these and other poisons in our food is of no concern to them.  . . you have too much faith in the government and its institutions.

id like to add that almost ALL protein powders have artificial sweeteners, so keep that in mind.  eat REAL gum, it doesnt have much calories dude.

Try switching to a xylitol gum.   It can't be used by S. mutans in your mouth so it prevents caries.   It's also low-cal.   Trident is the best.

is trident for teeth whitening purposes also? how do they taste?

They are putting this new ingredient called recalcident.  I think it is just a prettier word for flouride.  I could be wrong.  But it's supposed to replace the HO- with F- which strengthens the enamel.  I don't think anything really whitens teeth well except for the hardcore chemicals they use in the whitening strips or at the dental office.  I do not condone whitening though because it will make your teeth extremely sensitive to acids, cold and hot foods.
