I wonder if Bob could chime in on this. Here are a couple of issues I think are NO brainers that could really help pro events be better organized.
1. Advanced ticket sales: With the exception of the Olympia and the Arnold , buying an advanced ticket for a typical pro event is NOT a user friendly process. In my humble opinion having ticket vendor like ticketmaster would make HUGE difference.
2. Lighting -I see no reason why light INTENSITY is NOT standardized for a sanctioned pro event.
All top photographers use light meters to insure of good lighting. A properly lit stage with a professinal looking brack drop would really improve the overall "look" of the contest stage.
Since good photographers are at all pro shows, this could be an easy one to solve.
That , along with a set distance that the judges sit from the BB's on stage would be needed as well.
I see these two issues as lot more urgent than "drug testing" considering the new judging standard. I think one easy to solve key to getting more fans and media coverage to pro BB events. Just my 2 cents.
The recent winners in 2008 IFBB pro contests (Dex, Freeman, Heath, Melvin) have moved the pros in a direction that is welcome and more like a classic physique.
