yes you need alot of protein and food to build alot of muscle. where do you think that muscle comes from? its built from protein and you need energy from other foods to use that protein to build that muscle.

probably not. protein intake doesnt have to be all that high. calorie surplus doesnt have to be all that high either, maybe 500 calories over whats needed to maintain.

that being said, might be worth trying a high protein diet for a short period of time, maybe 3 months and find out if it really makes a difference. if not, then you know and dont have to eat excessive amounts for years and years...

bluto he doesnt sound like he knows alot about nutrtion. mst people asking questions like this would consider 1g per lb body weight everyday a HUGE amount of protein. but compared to some of the recommendations bodybuilders give, its nothing.

i have friends who train alot and THINK they are pretty knowledgeable and dedicated..and they will tell me "man i ate so much protein today. i had a protein bar for breakfast, a pack of brown rice for lunch, and before i trained i had a protien shake."   ::)

... people have no idea how much they really shoudl eat. if you tell him "no not really"... he isnt going to eat any at all.

I see you're still continuing your crusade for high protein intake  ;D

ofcourse you would eat all your meals..but using whey protein after a workout and casein protein before you go to sleep will boost your intake that much more.
