I think it goes well beyond their power to motivate people, it's also the fact that if you don't understand the grassroots of any issue, you have no clue as to how to properly affect it. Community organizers have a grasp on the situation from ground zero, not the ivory tower.

Personally, I believe that if America started picking her presidents from the ranks of community organizers, instead of from the ranks of the priviledged rich, ...you'd see some major beneficial improvements for your country.

That's why so many armies got their asses kicked against Genghis Khan's.
His men rose through the ranks and were chosen on merit, while other armies came from rich priviledged poppinjays.
