Scar ointment/treatment?
« on: November 12, 2008, 01:18:38 PM »
Anyone have any suggestions for a good and effective over-the-counter scar ointment/treatment?

A lot of what I've read indicates keeping a scar moist helps it to disappear faster but you're not supposed to use something like Polysporin over a week or 2.

What about something like Aquaphor or Vaseline?  Have also heard good things about "Mederma."

Yup
I blew myself up as a teenager playing with bombs  ;D
I had 3rd and 2nd degree burns on my face neck chest upper arms.
The blast was so hot my glasses melted.
After I got out of hospital I started using vitamin E and tissue oil, it made a big difference.

If the scar is small they sell special plasters that you use for 6 weeks that is brilliant at getting rid of visible scar tissue
