Wii Question
« on: November 24, 2008, 08:26:40 AM »
I've never played a Wii but a gal I was talking to this weekend said they got her elderly mother one for a gift and she loves it.  Some games she plays while sitting in a chair.

If so, what games should we include?

Thanks :)

The Wii sucks for any serious gamer, but is great for the casual gamer and for kids.

Thanks guys it is for an elderly person that has never played a video game (as far as I know) in his life.

Hopefully he'll at least give it a chance as he needs to move around a bit more.

benz, were your parents "gamers" at all before the Wii?  Did you have to talk them into trying it or was it their idea?

Umh they like games, like...PONG haha, very oldschool, they still got the console and its working!

When they saw wii, they tried the tenis game that comes with the console and liked it, then bought wii sports and now they are all day shooting.
As if its easy or not, well, their console is in english and they dont speak english at all so, its pretty friendly hehe. Wii is for all ages, the control is perfect for non gamers.

Yeah, Nintendo figured out how to put out a really crappy console, but totally infiltrate a new market for great success.

The Wii is a really weak console for this generation, but, like you said, it's cool to see my in-laws playing video games with my kids.

Agreed with the comments on the WII. It is great as a system that makes you get off your ass, but if your looking as a serious gamer for controls, graphics, game choices, etc. then you should just lay down the extra $50 and get an xbox 360. IMHO..

However the Wii is meant for kids and for older people, the wife loves her WII fit as it gets cold as hell here and sometimes she says its a nice change to her routine and it's an easy workout.. ha-ha.. I think it's more of the easy workout part... :-X
