I think you're an idiot for saying he'll out-condition Victor - this is one of the areas of which Victor is stronger.  Victor is dry all over and Ronnie has been watered down recently.  What makes you think either of these things is going to change?  Freeman looked incredible at the Olympia and could have finished higher.

It doesn't matter what the incentives are - Ronnie has always trained hard; he won't train any more or less hard based off a prize.  His problem is not training hard, it's injuries that have mounted from years of heavy weights.  He got beaten at the 2006 O and looked even worse at the 2007 Olympia.  HE RETIRED FOR A REASON!  

It would probably be in Ronnie's best interests to NOT enter the Arnold, but if he does...great!  I like Ronnie's love of the sport and he should be able to do whatever he wants; but, he will not be beating Victor Martinez or Toney at the Arnold.

The incentives I spoke of were not for Ronnie to train harder, it was to get him to do the show. He said he was going to do a show next year and as of the nationals he hadn't decided whether he was going to do the Arnold. It's been a while since he's had a nice payday.  In addition Ronnie never said he retired.  He said he retired from the OLYMPIA.

Finally, Freeman hit his great conditioning...once.  He has yet to get the consistancy down.  Until he does he could 1st or 14th.  Victor's problem has always been his conditioning. Until he hooked up with Chad Nichols.  Even then he looked good during prejudging and faded during prejudging.  Victor had never been "dry" he's been in good condition.  Ronnie's conditioning wasn't the problem his problem was his injuries.

If Ronnie does the show he will beat Toney and depending on what kind of conditioning Victor comes in Ronnie can still beat him.

that's what i was going to write.  what would ronnie look like at 250lbs?  how good will vic really look..esp his legs?  btw...ronnie is more balance.  vic has a long trunk with short legs.  what's 2nd place?  $90K?  Allows Ron to skip the O, tour another solid yr, keep his sponsor and some other goodies.

He doesn't have anything else to prove. He won this show already. As long as he stays in decent shape and can guest pose, he is set. He already has a Hummer and a watch and enough money.. Why go thru all that crap to do won show and possibly lose?

Ronnie cannot rediscover the form he had years ago at 250 pounds. The lighter he gets now, the more his injuries would be apparent.  Eventually, time catches up with everyone and at this point, this is assuredly the case with Ronnie.  With all that he has accomplished in the sport, he has more to lose than to gain by continuing to compete.  In 2006 and 2007 Ronnie showed obvious signs that his best competitive years were behind him.  With more time having past and taking his current age into consideration, it is even more unlikely that he will be able to turn back the clock.  He would now run the risk of getting defeated by guys that would have previously not been in his league. Deep down I'm sure Ronnie is cognitive of this and dangles the possibility of continued competition more as a means of generating interest and maintaining endorsement revenue.
