Yeah, the prices have plummeted. Guys that were spending 60-70k for a full blown custom are having a hard time offing them for 20K.

Still nothing like building a bike to your own specs instead of changing shit on someone elses creation.

Most have seen mine but here's a pic I posted awhile back.....

Who makes that front end?

sweet!  S&S??  do you ever have trouble with the open primary catching pant legs?  or is that just a carry over phobia from my bicycle days? haha

Ultima motor 113", the only time I got a pant leg sucked in was getting careless pushing back from a parking spot, it just sucked it and let go, no big deal didn't tear my pants or anything. If you keep your legs at the side and not forward while you push back there is no problem.

Thought so, theirs are sweet. Just got the original narrow (4"), and we're still trying to figure out how to cram a brake in there.

Better tip: fuck it who cares? ;D

I don't think it's possible to fit a front brake on that. I'd have to see it to know wether or not it could be done. But I don't the width is wide enough for the disc.

Mine has never "caught" my pants, which'd be pretty ugly. But it'll pull my leg and slam it hard against the belt drive. Kinda scary at high speeds.

The narrow old-schoolers were brake-free up front, but a friend of mine had some machine work done to his wheel and fit a disc. Hopefully we figure it out, 'cause having to rely on the rear brake alone is not very comforting.

Never had any trouble at all during high speed, only when pushing back at idle. I hope I don't ever have to deal with that.

The only thing I could think of is to have the hub machined down as closely to the spokes as possible while still allowing clearance for the caliper. Did your front end come with the slug to mount the arm for the caliper?

Yeah, but I requested it. They're only making the old narrows by custom order anymore. I'll post a pic if we pull it off.

I had to request mine also, same if you want to mount a fender. How long is yours? I've heard the narrow ones flip/flop pretty bad when they get longer.

Mines stock length. Looks bad as fuck, but I don't trust myself to rely on the rear only.

Sent you a PM about the machined one.

What brand is that? I've heard bad things about some of the cheaper brands. No matter the brand, make  sure you have the chrome blasted off the bolt threads before you install them, the chrome gets in the way of the loc-tite and the bolt will back out and fuck your caliper. ;)

BTW, I run the Exile cycles sprotor on mine, it does clean it up real nice.

When is Billy Lane comin' back?  His "used to be" shop was 5+ miles from my house.  It was hardcore...just stop by & the guys are building the bikes like right there. :(

He's still around, I haven't really heard anything about his cases. I know the one were the guy died, I think he pled to a lesser charge and he had another DUI out west somewhere, don't know about that one.
