Just when you thought Canada couldn't get any dumber...

"...now, in Canada, functionally disabled obese people will have the right to a free extra seat when flying inside Canada."

Based on the numbers, does this mean that bodybuilders flying in Canada will now get a free seat, too?  According to the charts, many of them would be obese.

Tomanater - get your extra seat, bro!   ;D

The first time i have ever seen this term "Functionally disabled obese person"
A self induced disability?

I bet the person who came up with this idea is fat

Fat people should be killed or at the very least have their mouths wired shut so they lose weight.

{LOL} We're a generous country, but I think it probably has more to do with the inconvenience and safety of other passengers, than it does with being magnanimous.

The functionally disabled obese will rarely buy that additional ticket, and will often hope the plane isn't full, or will sometimes purposely book on flights that frequently are sparsely populated in order to get the extra seat they need without paying for it.

The inconvenience is not just to the obese person, but every other passenger, and crew member of that flight, and if often delays flights to such an extent that it costs the airlines more money in accomodations from having to re-imburse inconvenienced passengers for missed connections as a result of the inevitable flight delays, or the additional plane fares they lose when these delays result in other passengers being bumped to make room for the obese, or passengers being bumped from subsequent flights because later connections are now overcrowded with numerous passengers who missed their previously scheduled flight.

If a plane with 50 connecting passengers fails to make a connection, the plane still has to take off. So they not only lose money by flying at less than capacity, ...but now have to fit those 50 onto the next connection etc which in itself may not have room to hold them. I guess they figure 1 free seat is less expensive to them than 50 2 or 3 times down the chain.

If you've ever gone through the hassle of trying to move passengers around, or trying to find room for an incredibly obese person who cannot fit into one seat, you'd realize how troublesome it is. I went through it once, ...and trust me when I tell you , ...it is a nightmare!  >:(
