Funny story,

I was at the gym today and this bunch of guys were talking about how hard Ronnie trained, refering to a few of his videos... when I stopped and said "Excuse me fellas, but as hard as Ronnie trained, he didn't train as hard as Dorian!" that shut them up good!

OWNED!!!

Priceless! I wish I could have seen their faces. I bet they think twice before saying that again.

Good work Bluto!

Dorian didnt even have good arms, and his quads look like shit from the front, and his chest was small compared to his back..... but i guess being 'white' goes a long ways.  ::) ::)
Dorian was trash, all the way around.. And once again ...you are spot on...Being white does go a long way... Also the princess(Blue Toe) makes so many crush threads on Dorian ,and Mentzer,it's not even funny..

Fucking right he did! Let me tell you a miraculous story. Once upon a time...

The Legendary Mike Mentzer:

introduced Dorian to a brilliant muscle-building system called High Intensity Training.
It made sense, so Dorian tried a set of rows to failure

and he liked what it did to his back:

That worked out well for Dorian, so he applied the system to other exercises as also.
My goodness, it made all his body parts grow like never before! Dorian was in love and would stick to the system for life. It made him grow so effectively that he changed the size standard in bodybuilding forever.
He grew so much, some people even thought Dorian grew too big!:

Soundness, bud, just so you know, Mike Mentzer never INTRODUCED Dorian to HIT, Dorian was always doing HIT even from the start, he only worked out with Mentzer only about 3 times and Mentzer made a name for him self because of that because he said he was TRAINING Mr. Olympia.

This is false, in his interview Dorian says that all the influence Mentzer had on him was making him cut his volume alittle further.
His training is very different than Mentzer, and he has time and time again mentioned that Mentzer's training system is not appliable to real life, even though it sounds great on paper.

I'm just sick of Mentzer getting credit for Dorian's HIT, that's all. :)

Thanks, AXA. Sorry about that.

I think I mixed Dorian up with Casey Viator, whom Mike did introduce to HIT.  ;)

You've got it backwards. Casey Viator was training HIT under Arthur Jones when he swept to a stunning victory at the 1971 AAU Mr. America, where an unknown Mike Mentzer placed 10th. Mike and Casey talked after the show, so knocked out was Mike by Casey. This led to conversations and a visit to Florida. The rest is history....

So Casey introduced Mike to HIT, and Dorian was already doing HIT when Mike met him?
So Casey must have introduced Mike to Arthur Jones?

I guess if less sets and less weight and less training time means training harder.

And before everyone goes on about his 'intensity', I can't imagine Ronnie's feeling during rep 12 of 200lb dumbell chest press, with what is actually rather good form, is anything other than total intensity. I suppose he could have done some pointles forced reps, or 'injury reps'.

Plus lets be real:

Normal pyramid training is 4 sets with progressively heavier weights ending on heaviest weight for as many reps as possible.

HIT training is once all out set to failure, preceeded by 2 or 3 warmups with progressively heavier weights. As Lee Priest pointed out to David Henry THIS IS THE SAME THING.

Dorian strikes me as much more targeted in his training approach.  Dorian has a methodology to what he does in the gym, where as Ronnie seems like a guy that would just go in and try throw around big weights.

Yep. You got it on all points.  Mike did introduce other bodybuilders to HIT-in the 70ls Dave Mastorakis, one of the best short men ever,  much later he did train Aaron Baker and David Paul for a while.
