is this workout for real? or all lies? your opinions...

i saw this workout posted on another site in some dudes training journal...is this dude lying? or is it possible...hes just a dude who likes to lift and isnt a famous powerlifter or anything

are 150lb dumbell  lunges even possible?



started with squats
wu 100lbsx20reps atg
200lbsx20rep atg
400lbsx15reps parr
here is where the craziness starts..........dropset
400 repped to failure (15) stripped to
300 repped to failure (12) stripped to
200 repped to failure (10) stripped to (feels like a ton)
100 repped to failure (10) stripped to (burns)
just the bar and kept repping (22)
sat down, dizzy and seeing spots

grabbed dbs for some shrugs

150sx25reps
150sx25reps
150sx25reps
150sx25reps
150sx25reps
my traps dont show, it doesn't grow up, just makes a bulge on the top going to the back. have to be extra brutal to get some results

took the same dbs for a ride with walking lunges

dizzy, nose bleed and puked.

rested and had tuna and half a shake

a bit tired and winded but what the hell.

craziness starts now, used 50s then 25s for a reason
400 repped to failure (8), stripped 25 per side
350 repped to failure (6), stripped 25 per side

legs were pretty much pumped and toast so the dismal reps, it felt much heavier then they look. still dont really care about the reps, its the results im after. the pump, stiffness and pain are all good indicators in my book

to give the quads a nice rest and some stretch

funny how at the end of the cycle, the 10 feels much like a 120 in the beginning

hate this more than calf raises, burns and stings like no other. this is my most painful workout.

shrugging warm up followed by bb shrugs
bb shrugs
450x8x1 (squeeze on top of last rep)

followed quickly by another round of db shrugs

that got traps hot and pumped

good mornings (nothing heavy here, just enough to loosen the back)

tried doing cleans for the first time. so excuse the weight, its not much but have to get my technique and form correct first

120x5x2 (never could go heavy on this, can't supinate my arms enough to get a hold on the bar, if i force it with heavy weight, its gonna cause a sharp tearing pain down my forearm)

calves, a constant in my every routine

the panzer grouping method, standing coz I did seated last time. still a little sore so I did just enough weight to get an good pump

group 1 at 400lbs - 20,18,15,13,13
group 2 at 600lbs - 18,16,16,14,10
group 3 at 700lbs - 15, 13, 10, 8,8
got a skin tight pump so im done with that

reverse calf raises, still very sore here so im taking this conservatively
group 1 at 300lbs - 15,13,9,5,3
group 2 at 300lbs - 13,9,6,3,1
group 3 at 300lbs - 3,3,2,1,1
got the skin tight pump, definitely in pain here.

So on his first attempt ever at the exercise, he power cleaned 250 lbs for 15 reps.

I'll save QO the trouble and go ahead and call BS.

Heres another of his workouts :o
Went to the gym with my heart in sunk down to my ass. Wasn't expecting to do much with my hurting chest. The gym was empty (a good sign of good things to come) Took a couple of deep breaths and those stung bad. Put on my ipod and started to zone out. It hit me, gotta make the most of the day so I did some warm ups, light work on the dread tread.

did some trap work with dbs
150x20x4

squats
100 pounds, at half squat. went progressively lower and lower to see if there was any chest pain. NONE! cool.

box squats parallel
200x1x1 still no pain
300 still nothing, yehey! now im psyched.
400x10x1 nada
500x8x1 oh yeah, im smiling now

box squats below parallel

575x5x4

legs were pumped mad, aching too. no back problems, no chest problems


walking lunges with dbs

120x35ftx2
150x35ftx6

can't hardly walk after this, but still can so had to fix that. felt woozy, seeing spots, nose bleed

leg curl superset with calf raises

some thought:
1. felt great all thru the workout. pumps were insanely skin tight.
2. not much pain from chest during the workout tho area still tender to the touch
3. got into single reps on the legpress and leg curls supersets
4. knees are a little shot, have to standup moaning and groaning, gonna pay for this tom for sure
5. friend drove me home, was just too pumped, spent and sore to walk the 2 kilometers going home
6. sat is back day, hope workout will be good, wish me luck guys.

got home changed and headed for some all you can eat jap buffet
7 or 8 pounds of tuna and salmon sashimi

1 cut of rice

These are the kinds of workouts my wife does in the basement.  One of these days I'll let her come train with me and do some real lifting.

The most clueless gimmick ever! You have a good X-mas, Bluto. Maybe Santa will bring you some WD-40 for your wheels, so you don't wake up the other assisted living patients while you skulk about.  :)
