I don't understand why this is so hard to accept or comprehend....

Golf and comp. bbing do not require athleticism. They can both be performed by virtually anyone, young, old, fat and skinny alike.

They both require some sort of skill, and both are difficult, no doubt. Both require years of training, and preparation (at higher levels). But that makes neither a sport.

Gordiano, I know your going to laugh or roll your eyes, but a precise swing with perfect form doing it hundreds of times per round is an athletic move.

That's a very ignorant view. It certainly requires a lot more than you're giving them credit for. They also diet, practice posing, train, tan. It's like women's bbing, without the excessive drug use, and without the penorises. Ironically, it is very similar to the pageant you train people for. Yet, they don't do much of anything in your view.

And nobody said comp. bbing is easy. It's just that the act of oiling up, and posing for a crowd men while wearing tiny trunks is gay. Really, no different than any other pageant, only targeted to gay men.

Not ignorant at all. Regardless of what these woman do on stage you will never see an ugly Miss America. All the other stuff is just is added in just to make it look legit. As far as BB being targeted towards gay men, well sounds like you have some personal demons you need to deal with.

To be a good or great golfer does take athleticism.  I have seen many people on the golf course having a hell of a time hitting the ball off the tee.  Swinging at nothing but air.  Putting and the short game take much skill and practice to become very good at it.  And it takes skill and practice to constantly stay in the fairway.  Just because Daly is out of shape doesn't mean he is not athletic.  He is still one of the top 150 players in the world.  He still can beat 99.9 percent of the population for 18 holes.  And the tour is grueling.  Try hitting 300 balls a day at the range, travel, play practice rounds on Tuesday, pro ams on Wednesday, followed by 4 straight days of 18 holes of competitive golf just to start all over again on Monday.  Not to mention the time spent out fullfilling their sponsorships.  Babe Ruth was fat most of his career, drunk before and after, and sometimes during, eating hot dogs during the game and blasting home run after home run.  He was a natural athlete.  The average human being could not go out and hit 50 home runs in a full season.  Let alone try to hit a 95 mph fastball!  Or even play 162 games in a season.
