Go somewhere like shroomery.org. Ignore all the fucked up druggies and there are very quality posters who'll reference published, peer-reviewed studies and cite credible sources for their views on psychedelics. Registered there in 2004 and frequented the site for years before I went there. Granted, I'm only 23 but I've done my share of experimentation.
Psychedelics aren't to be taken lightly. They can be an amazing tool for cognitive expanse and exploration... or just a sheer, ego skull-fucking, blast-you-into-another-dimension mind bender. Either or. Be prepared. Know your substance. Plan ahead and permit enough time to peak and come down and plan some activities that you may or may not be able to follow. Just do it in a safe place if all else fails and have a trip sitter or love life line available. I always make sure someone knows I'll be tripping balls so they can offer comfort and assurance in case I experience ego loss.
It's been years since I've had my brain pulled out of my asshole and warped across the universe. But that's just because I respect these drugs so much. Too much tripping will make you a fucking nutter and kill the experience. I plan on tripping sometime in 2009. Not sure on what though. Maybe a quick salvia buzz (I've had mystical and glowing experiences before), or perhaps a bit of DMT or something.
