sixstarmuscle products
« on: January 06, 2009, 07:06:58 PM »
Anyone try these products? Just bought the No Fury to try, opened can to find it only 1/3 full. I know that  they package these by weight, but canister size is very deceiving.

The canister says that the powder is packaged by weight and settling may occur. As for the product itself, I’ve used N.O. Fury once or twice; it’s decent. I call it the poor man’s NaNO Vapor. Like most products in its category, you take it 30-45 minutes before training. However, I’ve found that it tends to kick into gear around the 20-minute mark.

Of course, with the beta-alanine, you get the tinglies in the hand and forehead shortly after consumption.

For $18 to $22 (the price at Wal-Mart or Vitamin Shoppe), it’s a fairly good bargain, considering other N.O. powders (NaNO Vapor, N.O.-XPLODE, SuperPump250) go for at least $45.

I've also used Six Star's protein and fat-burners, particularly when marked down for clearance (the old ones in the grey bottles/jugs). It's a functional brand; it ain't the best, but it will do. I would say it's a great bargain, when money's a bit tight. But, that isn't quite the case anymore, considering that Wal-Mart sells the Body Fortress products right next to Six Star. It's protein and creatine punch products go for about $5 less than those of Six Star.

I beg to differ. It depends on where and when you shop. The three times I’ve purchased NaNO Vapor, it’s been for $30 or less (when GNC has marked the prices down and I’ve used my Gold Card). There’s some more marked down to $42. But, Gold Card week is over at that particular store, which is NOT one of those that now let you use the Gold Card everyday.

Of all the NO powders I’ve used, NaNO Vapor works the best. Among other reasons, you can take it immediately before training, instead of waiting 30-45 minutes as with other products, including N.O. Fury, N.O. X-Plode, SuperPump250, etc.

With that said, N.O. Fury is a fairly good product; again I call it the “poor man’s NaNO Vapor”. And the price is usually around $20. If Vitamin Shoppe does a clearance sale, you can get it for even less.

you honestly don't need that crap...go train without it and you will see that you are fine...don't waste your money on smoke and mirrors..I don't care how cheap it is

I’ve trained without it and I’ve trained with it. I prefer to train with it. So, whenever my budget allows for it, I use supplements like NaNO Vapor and N.O. Fury.

I don’t know what your beef is with certain supplements (or supplements, in general). But, much of it is unfounded. They’re designed to be aids to sound training and diet. Do I need them? When push comes to shove, the answer is “No!”.

But, if they can give me a boost here and there and they’re somewhat economical, why not use them.

they give you a boost psychologically......not physically..supps are worthless and you just said that push comes to shove you don't need them....N.O. Fury  and other supps are worthless and it seems that sixstar has adopted Muscle-Tech's strategy of saturating BB magazines with worthless lying four page ads...

If supplements are so bad, why have you gone on record as having used Six Star's Creatine or Gaspari's Size-On (which you said yourself worked well initially, as far as giving you a pump and upping your strength, just to name a few)?

When I said "when push comes to shove I don't need them", it was with the understanding that I will keep training and eating, whether I use those supplements or not. It's like using leg curl machines. The ones with the angled bench work better than the old-fashioned ones where the bench is flat.

However, if the flat-bench type is the only one my gym has (or the only type, because I'm using home-gym equipment), then I'll just use that one.

Given the choice, however, I would use the angled bench on the leg curls, due to its being more effective on the hamstrings.

Same goes for supplements. I get better results using them IN ADDITION TO my normal diet and exercise routine, than I would by not using them. Supplements are just that; they "supplement" an already well-planned and well-executed training and nutritional regime;

Having used both N.O. Fury and NaNO Vapor, I can tell you firsthand that NaNO Vapor is the better of the two. Again, one of the things I like about it is that it kicks into gear IMMEDIATELY. N.O Fury isn't as strong and takes longer to start working. But, it's cheaper and a good product in its own right (hence the moniker I gave it of "poor man's NaNO Vapor).

I can work out well without them, too. But, I work out better with them. And, if it's within my budget to use them (which has been the case, thanks to clearance sales and the gift certificates), I use them.
