The US premiere of late rapper Notorious B.I.G biopic Notorious was plagued by violence.

One man is in critical condition, while three others were hospitalised after a series of stabbings at the afterparty. There was also a shooting at a separate screening.

A man was knifed several times at Brooklyn nightclub Djumbala on Saturday night. The 21-year-old remains in critical condition at New York's Brookdale Hospital. Three other men were hurt during the incident.

While the party was promoted as the "official" afterparty, Fox Searchlight insists that was not the case.

The afterparty stabbing is not the only unpleasant incident to surround the film. A North Carolina theatre has banned further showings of the film after a man was shot twice during a screening over the weekend.
The man was rushed to hospital but is thought to be in stable condition.

The film, which stars Derek Luke and Brooklyn rapper Gravy, debuted at number three at the US box office.

The only Rap Album I bought was Run DMC when I was a kid. I don't contribute not one penny to any of these guys gold chains. I would never go see this movie. No way no how.

I checked out to see what the ending looked like and there was maybe 15 persons MAX in the room

I bet there were more at the beginning of the film. By the time you got there, the ambulances had left with at least half the audience, and the cops had arrested most everyone left.

That Nightclub "Djumbala" sounds like the place to be, if you want to get shot/stabbed etc.
