What is your favorite fight clothes line?
« on: February 02, 2009, 07:34:08 PM »
I would have to say I hate TapOut now as every mma ass monkey wanna-be rocks it and it seems like every car I see has a tapout sticker. However my favorite brand is probally throwdown. Great clothes with qualtiy and not overly popular yet. What about you fellas and where do you guys get your shirts at for cheap?

TAPOUT is not cool anymore. Good thing they sold a portion of the company before it went totally mainstream: Champs, Footlocker ect ect.

i just sport my cobb 28 shirts and my grapplers quest shirts and renzo gracie bjj shirts,i wont wear tapout anymore cause all these wannabes that dont even train mma or bjj are sporting them, some guys think it makes them appear tough if they wear them.im the opposite,i dont tell anyone that i train bjj/mma unless they start up a conversation with me about it and ask me if i ever trained, then ill just say i train alittle.nothing wrong with sporting mma shirts but some people wear them thinking they look like badasses,it makes me laugh alittle.dont get me wrong, there are legit badasses mma dudes out there that sport the clothes like tapout and affliction but most are posers imo.i used to like the ufc more before they bacame mainstream, atleast you knew for the most part that a guy wearin a tapout shirt most likely trained in mma/bjj and had a knowledge of the sport, these days guys are talking about the ufc in the gym where i work and you wont believe how clueless they are, they need to come on boards like this before they try to talk the talk

Out here at the bars around the college EVERY DUDE is sporting a Tapout shirt as they now sell them at Ross and Marshalls. It's funny, I asked a kid the other day if he trained and he said train what, I just laughed to the wife and proceeded to walk away. Shit kills me, I mean it's cool I guess it's like wearing a sports jersey (I guess) but it's horrible when they walk around the bar mean mugging everyone except the other guys in tapout shirts.

House of Pain and Throwdown aren't that mainstream yet. I like those plus I get them free.......

I was wearing my Tap, Snap or Nap shirt a while ago and got called on it. A guy sitting with a group of bikers outside of a place called Los Panchos Restaraunt had said "Bold statement on the shirt" as I walked passed him carrying take out for my wife and daughter.

I walked backed, leaned down into his table and said "Yeah it is isn't it?"

After staring at each other for a few seconds he said, "Cool."

I said, "Cool."

Then walked away.

Not telling the story to be an internet tough guy but if you wear a MMA shirt be prepared to get called out a time or two. There are alot of assholes out there looking for fights, especially under the influence, so if you wear one be prepared to defend it.

HAHA LMAO!  What a dork!  Who the fuck would wear a jacket made out of heavyweight ass gi cotton material?  BJJ has become so damn trendy it's pathetic.

No you didn't hit a nerve.  But the guy in that picture is John Petrone from the Defense Institute.  I guarantee if you met him in real life and saw him do what he does you wouldn't say shit to him.
