Entering a period of high potential for Gov agency misconduct.
« on: February 22, 2009, 04:39:13 AM »
I'm thinking back to Waco and the ATF with their funding on the table at the start of Clinton's first term, in need of a high profile opperation to justify the money.

Obama plans to slash deficit in half

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because the president has not yet released his budget for the fiscal year 2010, which begins Oct. 1, said the deficit will be shrunk by scaling back Iraq war spending, ending the temporary tax breaks enacted by the Bush administration for those making $250,000 or more a year, and streamlining government.

The situation is much worse than Clinton's first term, many more government agencies will be in the scope of "streamlining government"

Many of these guys are going to be looking for ways to justify their status quo ASAP.  High potential for shady shit in this timeframe.  Question motivations behind whatever shit pops up in these first months. (They've also all known this was coming down the pipe at least since election day so...)

Question stuff like this posted the other day by Grant: http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=265423.0 This is a good possible example as it illustrates a failure and a strong need, just the kind of thing a government agency might want weighing on the minds of the people slashing government.  I remember one of the things the FBI did was to massively increase their needs going on a hiring blitz after the election. http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/01/05/fbi.hiring.binge/index.html?iref=mpstoryview  There's a funding strategy in that timing too and even possible ties to Grant's story.
