Obama's budget czar
« on: February 23, 2009, 08:09:54 AM »
Seriously, what the fuck is with the use of this czar word over and over again?

Obama's budget czar, Peter Orszag, has a tough job: Control spending in the long run as the U.S. commits unlimited dollars to rescue efforts in the near term.

If you're looking for Peter Orszag, you might check between a rock and a hard place.

As director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, Orszag is charged with a seemingly impossible task: Figure out how to rein in the more than $3.5 trillion federal budget as the country tries to spend its way out of a fiscal mess.

The country will get a glimpse of Orszag's handiwork next week when President Obama presents Congress with an outline of his fiscal year 2010 budget request on Thursday.

That outline will be the first formal indication of the president's policy priorities going forward -- what tax policy changes he favors, what programs he wants to expand or eliminate, and how he wants to handle the long-term funding shortfalls for Medicare and Social Security. The administration is expected to submit its full budget request in March.

Almost half of that chart is useless garbage that the government uses to keep people coming back.  Sickening.

It's the media.

They love to hype up things.

Like "credit crunch"

You've ever watched a few minutes of the lame ass TV show Monster Garage with that douche bag Jesse James?

They have this speaker voice that is really loud.

If Jesse James is going to the bathroom, here's how it may sound:

"THEN JESSE STOPS THE STEEL HANDLING MAYHEM FOR A MOMENT - FOR A MOMENT OF MAAAAANLY MOMENT OF LONLYNESS - ARGGGGGH"

The media whores are drama queens.

It's a play with words really.

Here's what's going on:

It's easier to sell a drama rather than the actual story.

So rather than telling the boring news, the news media will try to sex up the news.

That's why you will see them branding people as "mavericks", that someone is making a comeback, that "the market" is going nuts, et al.

The most bizarre phenom is the expression "the market".

The economy "journalists" (I use that term loosely, they are mostly fan boys of the Wall Street bankers) describe the market as some kind of living organism.

"The market responded with a rally"

This is pretty bothersome in my opinion.

You gotta depict a financial market for what it is.
As empty as paradise

Wow, look how social security and medicaid/medicare is expanding.  Thats a huge piece of pie!  Between the stimulus spending, social security and medicaid, that takes up 2/3 of all spending!  Entitlements.
Interest on debt is approx $200billion and that will increase next year unless we stop this spending spree.  Thats $200billion dollars wasted every year because the gov is too irresponsible to create and adhere to budgets.
