I had that vision which is discussed in that article a few years back. I almost had a nervous breakdown b/c I could see what was coming. I was told that I was crazy and that there was no way the economy could get into that much trouble. This was coming from people in the medical industry (psychologists, psychiatrists). I thought about their schooling and wondered how many supply chain management and international trade classes they sat through for their degree. Well, I have a degree in business and understand the logistical issues we currently face. Things are barely keeping pace today. Throw in severe degedation of the work force, remove the maintenance of all transportation routes, remove the police that protect shipments/cargo/merchandise/raw materials, remove the ability to produce 24hr electricity and we are back in the stone age.
I would advise people to print hard copies of anything they need off the computer or get a backup generator in case things get ugly. A generator is great no matter what.
