Can you bring a handgun across the border into Mexico?

What are the gun laws in Mexico?  Do they search your person and car if you drive across?

Instead of being a dick you might try answering my question.  If you have a gun in your car how are they going to know?  What happens if the federalis catch you?  You'd think someone would rather take their chances getting caught then getting kidnapped and murdered by the drug cartels.  I'm just curious what the mexican gun laws are.

they are very strict.  They do random car searches. If caught, you pay a hefty fine and a bribe, or go to jail.

Im thinking you can on a gun in mexico, although i gotta be honest i really dont know but a CCL from the US wont do you any good in Mexico im sure. Why are you thinking of going to mexico?

When you cross the border, there are signs posted in English that say "no, you can't take a gun along"

No wonder the drug cartels are wreaking havoc on citizens.  They are armed to the teeth yet citizens can't do shit to protect themselves.  What a wonderful country!

Mexican citizins can have weaposn in their home, however most are limited to .22's nad anything more is very har to come by as there are restrictions when it comes to the types of firearms.  Anything that the army, cops use you can't.

I don't really have a choice.  My fiance and I are getting married in Cabo in June.  If anything happens to me or my family I will become Vin Diesel in A Man Apart :)

I would imagine if you stayed near or on the resort you would be fine, and denzel washington in man on fire would be who i would become.

Dude they can check any or every car that goes into that country and leaves that country.  They put a little number on the roof of your car and you get escorted over into an area where they literally can strip your car down to nothing.  If they want to do it they can.  I have seen it a bunch of times.  We used to bring back roids we bought there and everytime I was nervous as hell.  They would tag several cars in front of us and then our car would come up and I would think we are dead.  But we never got tagged.  If you are asking if you can bring a gun in legally i have no idea but I would think you have to to check it at the border and let them know.  The cops down there are the most corrupt anywhere and they don't want foreigners bringing in guns that could make their illegal activity any harder.
