Jamaican Food
« on: March 20, 2009, 12:59:20 AM »
I made my first try of Jamaican Cuisine yeaterday, and it was really good!

I got the recipe from this site:

http://www.jamaicatravelandculture.com/food_and_drink.htm

and i made Curried Chicken. The recipe says goat, but i can't get goat here and fresh lamb wasn't available as well.

It was very good, but i only had one hour time for marinading, as opposed to 2 hours / overnight. It is very easy to do, basically mix all the marinade in a blender, put on the chicken, then after marinading take off the sauce, fry chicken in a pan, add marinade, potatoes, carrots and water and let simmer for 1 hour. I ate this with rice.

Does anyone have recipes to share?

I have never had Jamaican food before. I need to try something off that site and I'll get back with you afterwards.

Cool! It's pretty easy to cook as well.
