you ever read the graphic novel?

Apparently the movie stays true to it and if that is the case then special effects are just a by product of the story.

 A complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" - which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union - is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion - a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers - Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity...but who is watching the watchmen?

Just saw the Dark Knight and saw this trailer. I thought it looked pretty good but I don't know enough about the Watchmen to be a judge of that. Looked pretty entertaining. I personally thought Quantum of Solace looked better.

It amazes me how the Batman franchise has been reborn into something amazing.
I tried to get an Imax ticket for Sunday, I called and said "anytime". The bitch kind of chuckled like she had gotten hundreds of calls just like mine. No dice for Imax this weekend around here.  :(

There's only one IMAX theater in CT (another one at the aquarium that only shows fish movies) and it's 20 minutes from campus so I was going to go up there to move some shit at my place and catch the morning showing if it's not sold out. I don't think it will be but who knows. Really can't say enough about this movie, though. Got to see it again.  :o

Yeah, I don't usually get all hyped up for movies but I was waiting for this for over a year now. One of the few times a movie exceeded all the massive hype. Was counting down the hours until I saw it today.
