Probably. I think Danny Padilla clearly whipped Chris and everybody else in 1981, but Tom Platz ... he was very close, too.
From the pictures I've seen, Casey best met the IFBB criteria in 1982. He was [very] ripped, symmetrical, had no weaknesses (except, perhaps, in his chest ... and even then I think that was partly a result of his poor posing), and he made Chris Dickerson look tiny to boot. Casey's "weak" chest had to be inches deeper than Dickerson's.
Casey deserved that Olympia. He might not've been perfect, but he was a fair sight better than the 1981 Franco and
definitely better than a torn-up Dickerson. It should've been Casey in first, Tom in second and ... beyond that, I don't know. Dorian Yates had his fair share of bad injuries, too, but at least he still looked complete in most of the compulsories. Chris Dickerson ... I'm sorry, much as I want to give him credit after he admitted he was gay ... but his body just doesn't impress me.
