Obama declines comment on US hostage crisis off Somalia
« on: April 09, 2009, 09:24:26 AM »
WASHINGTON, April 9 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama declined to answer reporters' questions on Thursday on a hostage crisis off the coast of Somalia, where a U.S. ship captain is being held captive by pirates.

Obama was asked to comment on the situation several times by reporters at a White House event on refinancing for homeowners. Obama, however, stuck closely to the script and replied that he wanted to remain focused on housing.

President Headhunter, what do u think.

Well Bob, while we're here to discuss housing, I think its neccesary to say that our prayers go out to the family of Capt-_____ and that they should know that the US is doing everything it can to gain the release of our folks. They should know that I'm personally monitoring the situation and am deeply concerned. We will do what we have to, to resolve this serious situation.

Gee Barry u idiot, how hard would that be. I guess ur telepromter didn't cover that.  ::)

I think you'd criticize him if he commented on an ongoing military operation and he somehow caused interference with the mission ???

Nowhere in that statement mentions ungoing military operations..it mentions the Capt and gives his family the idea that the President actually cares. No specifics are even speculated. 240...i do this type of stuff for a living. Its not a reach to say that somebody in Obama's band of morons, can't do the same. It appears to me he can't multitask. Further...there are multiple news releases already generated by both Mersk and the DOD/DOJ talking about the situation. The FBI hostage rescue team is there.

He should say that this nonsense is unacceptable and our captain needs to be given back asap.  He needs to say that they have a minutes to give him back or they will be shot dead on site.

Barry sympathizes with these people and it is showing.

I think if we continue to have hostage crisis's, Obama's response will be the same as Jimmy Carter's was during the Iranian hostage situation.

That is the only thing these animals understand.

This will continue forever until we show some guts.

WTF use is having a huge navy if we are unwilling to protect our ships and property?

That's exactly what he should have said.  How hard can that be?  Unless you're unable to think without a script. . . .

Yes.  CNN seems to be about 12 hours behind the story, and they expect Obama to leak something which may compromise things on the ground?

We're at a point now where the same ppl here are going to shit on everything he does.  he could visit kids in a cancer ward, and they'd bitch he neglected the economy all morning.

It's actually quite pathetic... Like I've said before... Republicans are turning into straight up whining babies.

I'm going to check out their new book.

Dude....do u watch the friggen news. The damm FBI released a statement saying that their own hostage rescue/negotiators were oin the ground. Look at what i wrote.....what was the theme....it was to send a message to the family that we're supporting them, a message to Americans that we are doing something, and a message to the shitbags that we're serious...without a single threat made. Thats pretty damm standard, and u don't need a friggen screen message to do it. Barry cannot multi task to save his life. If he is not prepared, he won't go into it. They shield him from the media. Its the basics of crisis communiction, one of the things I now do for a living. This is basisc shit that his media people should have gone over with him prior to the event today. What, he didn't think he's get off topic questions. At the very least u practice the 3 question u know u'll get, the 3 u want to get, and the 3 u'd hate to get.

At best, it would be a re-write of what the liberals did back after 2004.

Every thing you claim the GOP is doing now, the Democrats were doing this time 4 years ago.

How so? Are you equating the fuckups of the Iraq war and Katrina and what not to this?

I think its more than reasonable for a presidential responce to the situation at this time.  He need not give detailed plans but needs to make a strong statement in this situation.
