I know for myself based on prior experience I would never allow myself to be captured if given the option, but its hard to bash those guys. They had a friggen Iranian gunboat pointed at them. Besides avoiding the whole situation in the first place, its hard to second guess them. I guess they could have fired on the boat. There were many times in Afghanistan that we walked into possible "orange jumpsuit u-tube moments. Its never direct combat, but usually when ur meeting a sheik or some other supposed safe and mundane task, outside the wire.

I agree....but I've never been in their situation. I would have liked to think I would have had a radio malfunction and fired up the .50 and gotten out of there. Better to be tried by 12 then carried by 6.

In my mind, its all about putting the fear of Allah in their rag towel. 

If they think they are going to get blown to smitherines for trying this garbage, they will stop.
