Masters - Is the story Cabrera's win? Or Perry's loss?
« on: April 13, 2009, 07:39:06 AM »

Kenny Perry has been playing really good golf for several years now and is, to me, one of the most likeable guys on the Tour.

Two up with two to play yesterday, I figured it was signed and sealed.  Par-par and he goes home as the Masters champion.

But it was not to be.

Sure, we can talk about the 4 'easy' strokes given up by Tiger over the weekend that could've made things a bit more interesting on Sunday, but I think what people will remember the most is what coulda been for Perry.

For an event where Tiger was never really in the mix (his finish on Friday spelled doom), these guys provided a pretty exciting finish.

It just shows how tough golf is at the highest level.

The sad irony is that most of the media won't make it about Cabrera or Perry.  It will be all about Tiger.  I like Tiger just fine, but why not focus on the winner and runner-up?

I took the field, which won me $40.

I wish I'd bet more.   ;D

All I know is that whenever I play golf, I get to hit the ball twice as much as anyone else.

Like one of my buddies says, he can "score at will" on the golf course !!!

Even though I thought most of the excitement was between Tiger and Mickelson and after that was over I was pulling for Kenny Perry.

I hate golf. It's a fucking boring, stupid skill game that involves tremendous resources being wasted on space, water and labor just for the pleasure of people who are unathletic to play other sports.

Get this stupid fucking topic onto the sports board!
