Is there a difference between Ephedrine and Ephedra?

I know that ephedrine is lab made and that ephedra is an extract form mahuang.  Is the effect different on humans?  Is 25 mg of one better than the other?
Years ago I would get pharmaceutical grade ephedrine in 25 mg, mix that with caffeine and aspirin and would be jacked like I'm on coke.  I dropped wight fast with it.

Today I can still get Ephedra and I feel that it is shit.  I don't get the same high or hot feelings.  It's possible that my receptors are torched but do you guys know of any differences between the two?

I agree. I go for ephedrine because it is from a lab. Ephedra is taken from plants and shit i think and i just don't trust it to be as evenly potent in ever dose.

25mg of ephedra won't do jackshit to you. You need an amount of ephedra that will provide you with 25mg of ephedra alkaloids.

be careful with both. highly addictive and you build up a tolerance fast.

All drugs which are extracted out of plants are not in a whole natural state. This is the reason there are so many side effects, which is a medical problem in itself.

I find ephedrine works better, whatever balances out in nature is removed in the lab

Ephedra is the natural version that contains various other compounds, while ephedrine is made in the lab with only that compound.

Taking Ephedra, you get Ephedrine, Pseudoephedrine, Norephedrine, Methylephedrine and lots of other stuff, these are actually working TOGETHER in fatburning, BUT!! you will have to take a lot of Ephedra to get the right amounts and Ephedra is normally not standardized, so you cannot say how much you get out of it.

In Europe, both are illegal.

I used some Yellow Caps a few years ago, can't say about the brand...

I wouldn't use it again though, like i said ephedrine is way more convenient and "safe" although i somehow refuse to use ephedrine and safe together.

I hear ya. Nowadays I take a very low dose with coffee on occasion just for a bit more energy before training.

when it is the 'drine' stuff that is the true deal. BTW, y'all can get REAL ephedrine...in fact, it is called 'ephedrine' at various truck stops, sold legally as long as it is not in a weight-loss preparation...,most potent combo

i wrote this a few days ago, but i would only use it on non-training days, maximum 2ce a week to boost the metabolism.

Before training, caffeine is good enough.
