Surgery and steroids
« on: April 24, 2009, 05:30:54 AM »
I'm going have my wisdom teeth removed and they're going to put me to sleep. The Doctor asked me if I was on any meds and I said no. But...I'm on Sustanon and Deca (just finished) and Letro. Should I have said something. Will all his medications and mine interact.
Thanks

Unlikely - I had my wisdom teeth removed in 06 and althoguh I wasn't "on" anything at the time, I would still have had some deca in my system. Didn't have any problems.

Just wait and mention it to the anesthesiologist before he gives you anything.  I highly doubt it is an issue, but you do not want to take chances when going under.  You might not wake up.

the only problem might be more bleeding, but other than that don't say anything, they can just cauderize the bleeding.

Bro, your best bet is to just tell the doctors the truth, they ask these questions for a reason.  If anything goes awry during surgery they want to know if it is a reaction to something you are on.  They're not going to call the police on you or lecture you about the juice.  Just tell them truth, that's what I did.

Don't worry bout it.  They are concerned about aspirin more than
AAS.  Or pain killers or Benzodiazipines.  don't sweat it.

Very good point which I had missed.  One really should not be put under unless it is absolutley necessary, especially for wisdom teeth.  Man up bitch!

gear helps speed recovery after surgery....just like it speeds recovery from training.

(study done on surgery patients where one group given nadralone injection during surgery and ather group given placebo.... nandralone group all reported quicker and more pleasant recovery than placebo group..)

It sped up my shoulder and foot surgery so much that my Dr's couldn't believe it.  And the test was PERSCRIBED BY MY PRIMARY DR.  I took
the opportunity to enlighten them.  Anyone "men" who have any kind of muscle, tendon, bone, ligament surgery should always be perscribed test cyp 200mg a week.  My orthopedist reccomended GH, but I couldn't get anyone to perscribe it.  Its not even a controlled substance.  Unreal.

I looked into this very deeply and spoke to several surgeons about it before my ACL reconstruction a few years ago. i was just cruising on 250mg test per week at the time of surgery and i could not find anything that stated test would hinder my "specific" surgery. I'm sure there are certain procedures that may be different than mine that may be effected by AAS. My surgeon said my muscle function(flexing the quad) and muscle size recovered faster than he had seen before, and he even asked me if i was on steroids about 12 weeks into physical therapy. ;D

Many doctors have informed me that AAS/GH in "moderate" doses after surgery can GREATLY benefit your recovery time and the success of your physical therapy, but it's very hard for them to perscribe AAS/GH for that reason.

I would prefer to be clean during any other surgery, just to be safe.

I don't want to say it's ok to do since that would be irresponsible, however, I've had a ravitch procedure done (removal of excess ribcartilage) in september while on 500 test/week and not a single problem.

OH NO, stop .. do not have surgery whilst on steroids, my friend had a simple arthroscopy and didnt tell the doctors he was using(500mg test a week) and his blood would not clot, they stiched the 1cm incision closed but the blood just kept building up underneath near his knee, it eventually burst at home, (he thought the swelling was from surgery) HE COULD SEE HIS WHOLE KNEE!! he fainted had to go hospital and took him a year to recover, so hopefully everything went ok with your wisdoms

There used to be a thread long...long ago on here about some guys horror story while being put under and he was on a full big ass cycle and didn't tell the anesthesiologist and ended up fucking something up... hormones do affect how they put you under and how much compound to give you to knock you out and keep you out for the remainder of the surgery.

Always tell your doctor.  It definitely makes clotting more difficult.  That may not be a big deal when you are having your wisdom teeth removed, but it will be if you have any sort of invasive surgery where they really cut you open.  Internal bleeding will occur.

Everything went fine. I bleed like a pig but I'm sure that's normal for that surgery. Going today for check up.

This can happen due to many things.
