..the only thing that really bothered me about that "project" was the fact that it was a kid.  

I mean, i'm 31 years old I know the consequences of my actions but a 18 year old kid doesn't know his left from his right at that point in his life.  
Plus, the producer said he wanted me to put the kid "at ease" before the shoot cuz he was alittle nervous.  I didn't want to be responsible for some kid ruing the rest of his life

Well I commend you for your choice... you are correct in that this kid was basicaly being exploited, while you were making a much more informed decision, (regardless of the moral implications of said decision.)
