Letterman was stupid not to check facts, but it wasn't malicious. Imus used a racist and mean sexist thing in the same sentence, after saying a lot of racist shit in the past. it wasn't an isolated incident.

Embassy Suites, part of the Hilton Hotels Corp., pulled advertising on CBS' site because of complaints, company spokeswoman Kendra Walker told TVGuide.com. The company was not an advertiser on Letterman's show.

"We received lots of e-mails from concerned guests and we assessed that the statement that he made was offensive enough to our guests and prospective guests that we elected to take the ads down," Walker said. She declined to release the cost of the ads.

If you think that one company pulling down their ads is an issue, then you don't understand how the TV business works... There are more advertisers than there is time for commercials.

David Letterman did not lose advertising from hotel chain Embassy Suites over his controversial joke about one of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s daughters, a rep for the company told Access Hollywood.

According to a spokesperson for the hotel chain, they asked that their ads be removed from rotation during the controversy, but added they do not have a side in the dispute.
