Awesome. I would love to go there to see a game. I'm not even a Sox fan to begin with but i would would love to go Fenway. Closest I've been is when I was across the street at the bar.

I miss visiting Boston. One of the cleanest cities I've ever been to. The only reason I got to visit Boston in the first place was because I was fucking a girl from there who I met on vacation in Ibiza. Good times, great nightlife too. Avalon was a fun club back in the day.

Fenway is a awesome, storied field. Real grass, and the monster is 30' + another 30 in mesh. Great pics, Cal. I see Toronto was visiting, too.  :)

Fenway needs an overhaul.  It looks really cool on the inside, and I actually like all the upgrades the ownership has done - the signage, monster seats, etc.  That stuff is good.

But I've  been in the locker rooms, dugout, played on the field....etc.  Locker rooms looked old and beat up.  The visitor's dugout bathroom looked like one in the Port Authority. The seats are way too small, and point in the wrong direction in many parts of the ballpark.  As much as I dislike the fan base, they are passionate about their team and deserve better.  I saw a player poll once that listed Fenway as one of the worst parks to visit.

For one game or two it's fine, but, if you go to multiple games, the seats can get uncomfortable.  Nostalgia is fine, but eventually you should upgrade.  Most Boston fans disagree, though.

I just think a modern version of Fenway, one keeping the uniqueness of the original park intact, with all the good parts of a modern park would be really cool.

Roy Holliday dominated that night.game was done in close to 2 hours.night life after words was great.cask n flagon, tequila rain and all the bars were packed.it was also the night Phelps was going for his 8th gold medal so it was a great night to be out and about.

Great seats and pics Calvin.  I caught a game in Fenway when they played the A's back in the late 80's....Canseco, McGwire, etc.... it was awesome.... great place to catch a game.

I know what you mean Grape Ape.

I feel the same way about the Cotton Bowl. It has so much rich history there, but the place is turning into such a dump. The lines to filthy bathrooms are ridicously long. If you try to buy some hot chocolate at the concession stand it is almost guaranteed to be ice cold by the time you get back to your uncomfortable seats. The surrounding area Fair Park has turned into the armpit of Dallas.

I have fought with the idea but sometimes you just gotta let those places go and look towards the future. While tradition is nice and all, it is going to be so exciting seeing big time, national scale collegiate games back in the Dallas area at the new stadium.

Although it would take until 2015 for it to come to fruition; to see the Cotton Bowl become a BCS caliber site would be unreal. (Especially if Texas could play for a National Title there!)

P.S. - Great pics Calvin, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Just waxing nostalgic for a moment :)

I absolutely agree, poly.  As a Yankee fan, I LOVED the old Yankee Stadium, and didn't think it was necessary to get a new one.  After being in the new park, now bringing a family, you get to realize how great a modern ballpark is.  It's just so much more of an enjoyable experience.   Now, they just have to address the HR situation there this offseason.

I don't understand the whole history argument as it pertains to Fenway anyway.  Most sox fans I talk to up here think baseball started in 2004.  ;D

Give me a break.  Most Sox fans think baseball started in 2004?  Thats total bullshit and you know it.  Who has more loyal fans than the sox?  Your true bias is showing through.  Fenway rocks and 99% of people who go there love it.  it's a playoff atmosphere day in and day out.  Keep your big fancy stadium in NY.  Lucino has been making improvements to Fenway every year....it's the best, most historic park  left in America, period.  Fenway has charm.

C'mon, you know that my comment was tongue-in-cheek - it was a shot at the pink hats.  But yes, of course I'm biased, but I don't come here with "all things sox suck and all things Yankees are great".

The comment I made prior to that my real feelings on the park.  To reiterate, I think a modern version of Fenway would be really cool.
