Barney Frank Tried to Remove the Natural-Born Citizen requirement from the Constitution - in 2000!

The subcommittee will be in order. The subcommittee meets now to conduct a hearing on H.J.Res. 88, which proposes an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to make eligible for the office of the President a person who has been the United States citizen for 20 years. This amendment, which was introduced by the gentleman from Massachusetts Mr. Frank would change the portion of the Presidential qualifications clause in article II, section 1, clause 5 of the United States Constitution that limits eligibility for the Presidency of the United States to natural-born citizens.

Nothing to "go on with",...I just favor the native born requirement.

I also favor citizenship for all who are born on United States soil,...its a mature concept with much emotion and meaning to it...Much as I tend to dislike rock and roll, "Born In the USA" is more than a Bruce Springsteen title.

The last time they pushed for this, it was republicans doing it. I just think it's funny that James skips right over that to Barney Frank 4 years ealier. The concept of Arnold running had several Republicans excited but it needed a fix first. I guess that thinking is out the window when they're all worried about pushing the Obama Birth Cert Conspiracy lololol....
