NSAC Approves Limited Instant Replay in MMA
« on: August 19, 2009, 04:01:36 PM »
Nevada State Athletic Commission executive Keith Kizer told Fighter’s Only that the NSAC approved the use of limited instant replay in MMA during a commission meeting held on Wednesday.

Kizer said, “The commission adopted a regulation today which will be implemented within the next 30 days to allow the referee to review the ending of a bout – if he so desires – to see if he wants to change the call.”

The use of instant replay will be limited. A referee will use it to determine if a fight-ending blow was legal or not.

That's so stupid, the referee's are by far the weakest link in MMA, or rather the fact that they won't restart a fight if it was called wrongly or ended prematurely, it's bullshit.

rumor has it they approve it for boxing for headbutts and a few other situations...

how often is a legal blow or not (to end a fight) is called into play in MMA fights ?
